but it's $580 (haven't asked my local gun store for the price for me yet though, so I imagine I can knock a bit off that). $399 for a plinking toy, I can live with that. nothing like the JW15's I've seen (then again it seems sometimes you get lucky between batches of the Norinco rifles). Suprisingly the fit and finish was quite good. I looked at the Norinco (trying not to judge it for being a cheap Chinese rifle). The question is, do I want to get the Norinco JW21 for $399, or a Henry 22 for $579 (most probably less). Bolt action 22's aren't any fun, but the little lever actions would be a hoot on my little range on the farm. I've got two Ruger 10/22s which are too easy to piss lead away with, and just not always a lot of fun to shoot. For a long time I've been wanting a lever action 22. Bolt travel is smooth enough and while the Puma is a relatively cheap gun, it is sturdy and businesslike being constructed of high quality materials in the traditional way.Christmas is coming up so I'm thinking of making it an excuse to get a new rifle. The root of the bolt handle engages a notch in the receiver and a second lug on the left side of the bolt sleeve engages a matching recess in the left side of the receiver, forming a very uniform locking system. It cocks half on the uplift and half on the down turn of the bolt, and has dual locking lugs. It’s well known that the JW15 action is a “poor man’s” copy of the Brno (CZ 452) action and has most of the desirable features of the Czech rifle. All things considered, there’s little to criticize about this budgetary rimfire. The grip cap and buttplate are black plastic and a pair of fixed sling swivels are fitted. The forend is well proportioned and rounded to fit comfortably in the hand and the grip is slim and nicely curved. However, the rifle balanced well and handled responsively. I checked if it would be possible to fit a scope with lower rings, but the bolt handle wouldn’t have cleared the eyepiece. Highland Sports attached a Nikko Stirling Mountmaster 4x42 AO scope in high rings which just cleared the rear sight. Thought I'd do a quick review of what it took to get the thing shooting well to save anybody else who buys one some grief. It came as a package with Outdoor Optics 3-9x40mm scope. Evidently, it was designed for use with iron sights, but in this respect it’s no worse than my old Brno Model 2, and I don’t have any trouble using both rifles with a scope. I bought one of those plastic stocked, black JW-15s with the 16' threaded barrel. It’s innocent of any checkering and the comb appears to have a bit too much drop at heel. 22LR”, the hardwood stock is stained to give the wood a walnut-like appearance. The Puma Hunter is a classic bolt-action rifle made in China, but marked on the receiver “Puma Rifles Hunter. Initially characterized as being utilitarian and rather crudely made, they nevertheless turned out to be robust, reliable and accurate. Norinco rimfire rifles are made for plinking and small game hunting, not as a showpiece for the gun room. Looking for JW-15 Browse the large selection of JW-15 products offered by Numrich Gun Parts.
